CC Dinner 2011
Christmas time agian, and CC hosted another annual Canada Computers Christmas party for their employees, partners and vendors.
This year’s event was held at the Premiere Banquet hall. The entire hall was filled with from what I heard about 800+ people. 300+ more than last year’s number which was already alot. I suspect next years number will be increased with the current expansion rate.
The dinner was a Chinese style meal, obvious since it’s ran by Chinese people. lol, sponsored by the Vendors. Unfortunately there were no door prizes like last year which I was looking forward to the most, I mean who wouldn’t want to be able to win a free TV or a free digital camera. LOL. There were however table prizes which were small prizes. The biggest one was a digital camera which I didn’t win. I won a R/C Helicopter which ain’t so bad.
I didn’t get a chance to win anything when it came to the lucky draw, but I wasn’t expecting to win anything, especially with my luck. The food however was pretty good, for the usual 10 course Chinese meal. Got to meet and mingle with alot of coworkers from different stores that I’ve known over the year and a half I’ve been with the company. Maybe next year will be alot better, that’s if I’m still with the company that long.. HAHA
New File Server
So the other night the RAM on my file server decided to die on me. So I had no choice but to replace it. It’s still using DDR1 and it only had 4GBs of RAM total. Replacing all 4 sticks was going to cost me $25-$30 a piece so a total of $100-$120. I decided screw that since DDR1 is not worth it anymore to just simply upgrade the entire system to a newer spec.
