New phone
Thought is make a new post on my new HTC legend phone.
I haven’t posted anything in a while since ice been busy with work and hanging out with friends.
I am still currently finishing an online course and currently work full time at Canada computers. Driving to work is a pain since it is 50 or so minutes depending on traffic.
I’ve slay beef hanging out more with friend. So I have had little to no time to with on my side project is re doing this website from scratch.
Back to the new phone. I got a new phone. Thud HTC android phone runs the 2.1 android software. Hopefully it will get the 2.2 update so I can play around with the jit compiler.
So far typing on this is similar to that of he iPhone where the sup correct kicks in to try to help you type faster. I still sometimes have to back space before i typed too fast or the spell check didn’t add the correct word.
The phone itself is awesome. Better than I thought. The HTC sense UI is very cool. And the 7 screens make cusomizing awesome.
Though I wish it had re 1ghz snapdragon processor. And more RAM. Other than that this is awesome. I will include a more in-depth review of check unit next week with pictures. It won’t be done on that phone tho. That would just take too long. Haha

Launching a new forum
I am launching a small forum for based around some of my interest. It’s an Anime, Sci-Fi and Gaming forum. I am not expecting it to be a huge success but I am hoping that it will get some activity. It’s powered by phpBB for now as it is probably one of the better free forum software besides the 2 main paid ones, Invision Power Boards and vBulletin.
I will slowly start adding modifications to make the forum more functional and perhaps design a theme for it to make it more unique. But right now I am focusing more on school.

Roger’s keeps free tethering for customers.
So it seems this promotional free tethering is no longer a promotion anymore. I received a text message earlier today notifying my that Rogers opt to provide customers with data plans of 1GBs and up to continue using the tethering features free of charge.
Rogers first officially offered free tethering to customers when the iPhone 3gs came out along with the iPhone OS 3.0 but was said to only last till the end of the year as it monitored it’s strain on their 3g network. This offer was offered for people with dataplans 1GB or higher. Closing to December 31st, Rogers decided to extend it’s promotion to May 3rd, 2010. Now its officially available as part of the data plan. More information can be found on Roger’s website.

Alice in Wonderland
Went to go watch Alice in Wonderland at colossus with a few friends.
I went in there expecting it to be a half decent movie. But I came out rather disappointed. I guess its not my kind of movie, but I did not enjoy the movie. There has been a lot of mixed reviews about the movie, I guess I’m in the crowd of people who disliked it.
The movie is about Alice returning to wonderland 13 years after her first visit. She doesn’t remember anything about Wonderland, as she last called it, and she’s supposedly part of some prophecy to slay some beast and save the land from the evil red queen?
A lot of the small details that went on in the movie didn’t make sense. Like how she was upside down yet, her hair showed it but her dress was still on properly, or how the only bruise she managed to get was the three scratch from the beast. Last I remember she fell down the rabbit hole. And that was quite the fall yet she got up like it was nothing.
There were some funny parts to the movie tho. But overall it was not a good movie at least for me. Luckily I watched it on Telus Tuesday where movie tickets are half off regular price.
On other news. I am looking forward to Iron Man 2 in may. And prince or persia looks like itd be a good movie.

Command and Conquer 4
I’ve pretty much played all the command and conquer series released to date except for the Firestorm expansion from Tiberium Suns. The original, Tiberium Sun, Tiberium War + Kanes Wrath, Generals + Zero Hour, Red Alerts 1 + Aftermath, 2 + Yuri’s Revenge and 3 + Uprising and even the FPS Renegade.
I picked up this game on my way home from school without bother reading the reviews on it, which was probably a bad mistake. But since it’s a Command and Conquer series, I’ll let it slide.
Command and Conquer 4 is suppose to be the last series in the Tiberium saga or at lease last series to feature Kane as the key character and I must say the game is not what I was expecting. It’s completely different from all the other command and conquer series, and not in a good way. I’m used to Command and Conquer series being collecting resources to build up your base and built up your army to wipe out the other army before they have a chance to wipe you out. Now, you no longer need to collect resources instead you are given a limited amount of “command points” where you can build your units from a all in one construction unit which can deploy and un-deploy whenever you want. The only resource remotely tied to Tiberium is collecting a tiberium crystal that spawns at a certain interval and you must use one of your units to deliver it to your deploy zone to receive upgrade points.
Command and Conquer 4 also has new features such as the achievement system, and a level system. You gain experience in battler, winning or losing grants experience. The higher the level the more units you get to use. Therefore you cannot start a game with access to every unit, which can mean if a low level player faces a high level player, they will have a tougher chance to winning.
The most annoying thing I can see in this game is the need to be connected on the internet at all times to play the game, Even if you only plan to play the single player portion of the game, it requires an active connection otherwise it wont let you play. Which means whenever I go to a wireless-free zone, I can’t play C&C4. I hear alot of people saying that is fine, because they are used to being online all the time to play their games from apps such as Steam. But Steam still allows offline play when an internet is not present. Command and Conquer completely eliminates that from the picture.
Overall, I think this is possibly one of the worse final ending to such an awesome storyline in history. I can’t say I am surprised as EA has a habit of taking all but the good things and turning it into crap for the users. It’s like they could careless how we think about their game since they know people would still buy their game. The game is a disappointment and I sort of wish that I’d have read the reviews before jumping the gun to buy the game.

Selling my iPhone 3g
Ever since I got my Blackberry 9700 Bold I haven’t had a need to use my iPhone 3g, even for Tethering. So I’ve decided to attempt to sell my iPhone 3g. The Phone is perfectly fine, minus the silent mode switch being missing. (the little knob on the side of the phone). But other than that everything is perfectly fine.
It’s a Black 16GB iPhone locked onto the Rogers network. Of course it can be unlocked so it can be used for any gsm network. My asking price for it right now is $300 dollars.

Dropbox
Dropbox is a great cloud based service for backing up and syncing important documents/files across multiple computers. It works across multiple platforms such as the Mac OSX, Windows and Linux on the computer side and the iPhone app for the mobile size with a blackberry app and android app coming soon. Although a mobile version of the web-end is available at m.dropbox.com
Dropbox offers 2GBs of free storage with the option to add additional storage for a small monthly fee. With this service you can and a smartphone with data, you can carry all your important documents without having to manually transfer. I believe the option to edit will allow for better use of the app, such as being able to edit it on the smartphone and having it synced automatically with all your computers so you’ll have the latest version of the file wherever you have a connection.
I highly recommend Dropbox to everyone to try out here

Mass Effect 2!
Ever since the game was announced sometime last year, I’ve been waiting patiently waiting for the game to be released. The time has come to resume the role of John Sheppard in his fight to defeat the Reapers from destroying everything.
Pre-Ordered this game via Steam and have had it preloaded and waiting for it to be unlocked so I can kick some Geth ass! Reviews about this game sounds good so far with a superb rating as expected. I am looking forward to the improvements they’ve done to the system and to experience the multitude angle of the storyline as I will be playing all the possible playthrough in the game.
I am hoping the game unlocks at midnight which gives it about 5 hours and 24 minutes if not I will be playing it the first thing I do when I wake up.
